About the CAT Programs and Research Team:
The CAT Programs and Research team partners closely with product teams to help Microsoft build the right solutions—and build them well—by bringing deep customer insight into the product development process. We work across multiple customer advisory programs and research efforts to synthesize feedback at scale and translate it into actionable insights that inform product strategy and execution.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who combines strong technical aptitude with a customer‑first and research‑oriented mindset. This role will focus on helping the team scale how we make sense of customer feedback, apply AI capabilities to accelerate insight generation, and independently explore problem areas surfaced by our customer communities.
We do not just value differences or different perspectives. We seek them out and invite them in so we can tap into the collective power of everyone in the company. As a result, our customers are better served.
Responsibilities
• Apply AI and technical capabilities to customer feedback analysis: Evaluate how customer feedback is collected across multiple programs and communities and apply AI‑driven approaches to synthesize insights more quickly and at greater scale. Help ensure we are not leaving valuable customer signal untapped.
• Drive problem‑first, customer‑centric discovery: Approach ambiguous problem spaces with curiosity and discipline, spending time understanding customer needs, patterns, and pain points before jumping to solutions. Embrace deep problem exploration to enable thoughtful, high‑impact outcomes.
• Conduct independent, lightweight research initiatives: Identify recurring issues raised by customer communities that may not be prioritized by central research teams, and independently run targeted, informal research to better understand the problem space. Translate findings into clear insights that can inform product teams and leadership.
• Collaborate across product and program stakeholders: Work closely with program managers, researchers, and product teams to ensure insights are aligned with business goals and can be effectively acted upon.
